Tired of life as a patent attorney, I left the field of intellectual property law to pursue a love of writing and a passion for music, dividing my time between Yorkshire and Nice with my wife and a wooden dog.

I have won short story competitions in both UK and Macau, where I was the winner of the English Section of the Macau Literary Festival 2018 short story competition, leading to my writing being published in Macau and translated into Portuguese and Chinese. My writing has also been included in various anthologies and has been published online by Litro Magazine (www.litro.co.uk), Flash Fiction Magazine (http://flashfictionmagazine.com) and others.

My first collection of short stories – The Goddess of Macau – was published by Fly on the Wall Press in 2020, followed the next year by my first novel, On Borrowed Time. I have recently completed an MFA in Creative Writing at The Manchester Writing School of Manchester Metropolitan University, and currently I am writing my second novel which is set in Macau in the years immediately after the Second World War.

If you would like to see examples of my writing please go to Writing, for general rambling thoughts try my Blog. If you have landed here by accident…welcome anyway and I hope you enjoy your stay!
